From June 2018 to June 2019, employment increased in 279 of the 355 largest U.S. counties. Adams County, Colorado, part of the Denver metropolitan area, had the largest over-the-year increase in employment with a gain of 5.3 percent. Richmond County, New York (Staten Island); Williamson County, Texas; and Utah County, Utah, tied for the second largest percent increase in employment, at 3.9 percent.
