Orlando-Kissimmee-Sanford, Florida, led percent job gains among large areas since February 2019

From February 2018 to February 2019, nonfarm employment rose in 25 of the 51 metropolitan areas with a 2010 Census population of 1 million or more, while employment was essentially unchanged in 26 areas. Over that period, Orlando-Kissimmee-Sanford, Florida, had the largest percentage increase in employment (3.9 percent).

In February 2019, other areas with an over-the-year percentage increase in employment of at least 3.0 percent were Phoenix-Mesa-Scottsdale, Arizona (3.1 percent), and Nashville-Davidson--Murfreesboro--Franklin, Tennessee (3.0 percent). Among those areas with a significant increase in employment, New York-Newark-Jersey City, NY-NJ-PA, and Philadelphia-Camden-Wilmington, PA-NJ-DE-MD, had the smallest, at 1.1 percent.
