In 2024, childcare benefits were available to 35 percent of private industry hospital workers and 29 percent of state and local government hospital workers. Childcare assistance is a benefit that provides either full or partial reimbursement for the cost of caring for an employee’s children in a nursery, daycare center, or by a babysitter.

Among other financial benefits for private hospital workers, financial planning was available to 45 percent of workers and nonproduction bonuses were available to 57 percent of workers. Thirty-six percent of state and local government hospital workers had access to financial planning and nonproduction bonuses.
Wellness programs were available to 89 percent of private hospital workers and employee assistance programs were available to 90 percent. Eighty percent of state and local government hospital workers had access to wellness programs and 95 percent had access to employee assistance programs.
