Total employer compensation costs for workers in hospitals averaged $67.64 per hour worked in June 2024. Wages and salaries averaged $44.73 per hour worked and accounted for 66.1 percent of employer costs, while benefit costs averaged $22.90 per hour worked and accounted for the remaining 33.9 percent.

Total employer compensation costs for all private industry workers averaged $43.94 per hour worked in June 2024. Wages and salaries averaged $30.90 per hour worked and accounted for 70.3 percent of employer costs, while benefit costs averaged $13.04 per hour worked and accounted for the remaining 29.7 percent.
