Median weekly earnings of full-time workers with only a bachelor's degree $1,541 in Q2 2024

Full-time wage and salary workers age 25 and over with less than a high school diploma had median usual weekly earnings of $726 in the second quarter of 2024, high school graduates (no college) had earnings of $916, and those with some college or associate degree had earnings of $1,057. College graduates with a bachelor's degree only (no higher degree) had median weekly earnings of $1,541, and graduates with advanced degrees (master's, professional, and doctoral degrees) earned $1,897.

Among workers with less than a high school diploma, women had usual median weekly earnings of $634 while men's earnings averaged $776. High school graduates with no college that were women had median earnings of $794 per week and men had earnings of $1,024.

Women whose highest education level was a bachelor’s degree had usual weekly earnings of $1,325. Those who had an advanced degree earned $1,675 per week. Men with only a bachelor's degree had median earnings of $1,768 weekly. Usual weekly earnings were $2,166 for men with an advanced degree.

These data are from the Current Population Survey and are not seasonally adjusted. For more information, see "Usual Weekly Earnings of Wage and Salary Workers: Second Quarter 2024". Full-time workers usually work 35 hours or more per week at their sole or main job. The median is the midpoint, or 50th percentile, in the earnings distribution; half of workers earn more than the median and half earn less.
