• This website is currently not being updated due to the suspension of Federal government services. The last update to the site was Monday, September 30. During the shutdown period BLS will not collect data, issue reports, or respond to public inquiries. Updates to the site will start again when the Federal government resumes operations. • BLS has delayed Green Goods and Services–2011, originally scheduled for release on January 29, in order to conduct additional analysis of the impact of a change in the North American Industry Classification System that occurred between the 2010 and 2011 surveys.

• In preparation for the January 15, 2013, news release for the Producer Price Indexes, the PDF version of the news release at https://www.bls.gov/news.release/pdf/ppi.pdf will be replaced with a temporary file the afternoon before the release. This temporary file will be replaced with the most recent edition of the news release when it is published on the BLS website shortly after 8:30 A.M.

• Monthly national Mass Layoffs data for April through September 2010 have been found to contain errors in each of the 6 seasonally adjusted series.  Not seasonally adjusted data and regional office news releases are not affected.  The corrected seasonally adjusted estimates for April through September are loaded into the Mass Layoffs database (/mls/#data).  The following national news releases contain incorrect seasonally adjusted data:

• BLS announces beta.bls.gov. This new section of the BLS website will showcase new tools under development prior to general release. beta.bls.gov will also garner feedback from the public about these 'beta' tools. The first of such planned previews is a map-based navigation tool for data from the Quarterly Census of Employment and Wages program.

• Extended Mass Layoff Survey data for the Fourth Quarter of 2009 are available on the online database section of the BLS Web site. The Extended Mass Layoffs - Fourth Quarter of 2009 news release will be released online Wednesday, February 17 at approximately 3:00 p.m. The posting of this release was postponed due to the weather-related closures of Federal government offices in the Washington, D.C. area.

• The Employment Situation news release issued on February 5, 2010 includes several changes to the content and format of the release.

• The Mass Layoffs: November 2009 news release will be issued today, Tuesday, December 22, 2009, at approximately 3:00 p.m. It originally had been scheduled for release at 10:00 a.m. today, but was postponed due to the weather-related closure of the Federal Government on Monday, December 21.
