Occupational Employment and Wage Statistics

Notice Regarding Publication of Colorado Occupational Employment and Wage Statistics

May 2024 Occupational Employment and Wage Statistics (OEWS) estimates for Colorado and its metropolitan and nonmetropolitan areas were released on July 23, 2025.

The May 2024 OEWS release on April 2, 2025, did not include estimates for Colorado and its areas because of issues related to the modernization of the state’s unemployment insurance system. These issues caused the Quarterly Census of Employment and Wages (QCEW), which is used as an input into the OEWS data, to temporarily suspend publication of Colorado data due to quality concerns. Although QCEW addressed these concerns prior to the April OEWS release, the updated Colorado QCEW data could not be incorporated by the scheduled OEWS release date. For more information, see the Notice Regarding Suspension of Publication of Colorado Occupational Employment and Wage Statistics.

The additional estimates released on July 23 are only for Colorado and its areas. The May 2024 OEWS estimates for other states, areas, and the nation remain those originally released on April 2, 2025. The May 2024 OEWS national estimates used the Colorado QCEW data available prior to the updates and may be marginally impacted by the quality issues in Colorado. Because of the Colorado updates, OEWS national estimates may differ from the aggregation of state and area estimates for the same occupation.
