Real average hourly earnings up 0.4 percent over the year ending August 2014

Real average hourly earnings for all employees increased by 0.4 percent from August 2013 to August 2014, seasonally adjusted. This increase stems from a 2.1-percent increase in the average hourly earnings and a 1.7-percent increase in the Consumer Price Index for All Urban Consumers (CPI-U).
