Number of unemployed people decreased by 275,000 to 5.8 million in September 2019

In September, the number of people unemployed decreased by 275,000 to 5.8 million. Among these, the number of job losers and persons who completed temporary jobs declined by 304,000 to 2.6 million. This includes people who lost their jobs not due to a temporary layoff (–218,000) and people who lost their jobs because of a temporary layoff (–86,000).
