Real average hourly earnings up 1.5 percent from August 2018 to August 2019

Real average hourly earnings for all employees on private nonfarm payrolls increased 1.5 percent from August 2018 to August 2019. Before adjusting for the increase in consumer prices, average hourly earnings rose 3.2 percent from August 2018 to August 2019. The Consumer Price Index for All Urban Consumers rose 1.8 percent over this period.
