Over the past several months, prices for dairy and related product have been lower than a year earlier. Since 2000, some of the largest over-the-year changes in prices for dairy and related products include a 10.4-percent decrease (August 2009) and a 16.3-percent increase (November 2022).
Milk prices were 2.1 percent lower in May 2024 than a year ago. Since 2000, the largest over-the-year changes in milk prices include a decrease of 18.4 percent (July 2009) and an increase of 27.2 percent (June 2004).
Prices for cheese and related products decreased 3.4 percent over the past 12 months, while prices for ice cream and related products increased 1.0 percent.
