The Producer Price Index for final demand increased 2.2 percent (not seasonally adjusted) for the 12 months ended in May 2024. The final demand goods index increased 1.6 percent over the past 12 months, while the final demand services index increased 2.6 percent.

Among final demand goods, prices for energy rose 1.8 percent over the year ended May 2024, while food prices increased 1.3 percent. Producer prices for final demand goods less foods and energy increased 1.7 percent over the year.
Among final demand services, prices for trade services decreased 0.6 percent. Prices for transportation and warehousing services decreased 0.3 percent. Prices for final demand services less trade, transportation, and warehousing increased 4.5 percent.
