In 2023, only 29 percent of the total recordable cases in the veterinary services industry resulted in days away from work, job transfer, or restriction. The other 71 percent were classified as other recordable cases, which are cases that do not involve days away from work or days of restricted work activity or job transfer, but require medical treatment beyond first aid (such as prescription antibiotics for a puncture wound). This indicates that the cases in this industry are typically less severe.
