Nonfatal occupational injury and illness rates by establishment size

In 2023, there were 2.4 nonfatal occupational injuries and illnesses per 100 full-time workers in private industry establishments. When looking at incidence rates by establishment size, rates range from 1.0 cases per 100 full-time workers among establishments with 1–10 employees to 3.1 cases for establishments with 50–249 employees.

Incidence rates by establishment size can vary by industries. For instance, establishments with 250–999 employees had a rate of 6.6 cases per 100 full time employees within the arts, entertainment, and recreation industry compared with 3.9 cases for the same establishment size within the health care and social assistance industry.
