U.S. export prices increased 2.1 percent from February 2024 to February 2025

Prices for U.S. exports increased 2.1 percent from February 2024 to February 2025 and ticked up 0.1 percent over the past month. Export prices have not declined on a 1-month basis since September 2024. Import prices advanced 0.4 percent for the second consecutive month in February 2025, and the index rose 2.0 percent over the past year.

For foods, feeds, and beverages, both import and export prices rose over the past year, up 8.2 percent and 2.3 percent, respectively. Automotive vehicles, parts, and engines also experienced a 2.3-percent increase in export prices over the past year, while prices for imports in this category rose 1.4 percent.

Capital goods had a 1.5-percent increase in export prices from February 2024 to February 2025 and a 0.4-percent decline in import prices over the period. Consumer goods, excluding automotives, followed a similar trend, with prices for exports advancing 1.3 percent and prices for imports decreasing 0.1 percent.
