While the availability of HMO's increased during the 1980's, workers in certain industries and geographic areas were more likely than others to be offered the opportunity to participate. This article presents HMO plan developments in all metropolitan areas from 1984 to 1987, comparing HMO plan offerings, plan financing and employee participation levels across industries and occupations.
