Total employer compensation costs for private industry workers averaged $30.32 per hour worked in September 2014. By region, average employer costs for employee compensation ranged from $24.29 per hour in the East South Central states to $35.27 per hour in the New England states.
Wages and salaries ranged from $17.25 in the East South Central states to $24.88 in New England. Total benefits costs averaged $7.03 in the East South Central states and $11.23 in the Middle Atlantic States.
