The unemployment rate in August 2015 edged down to 5.1 percent. The rate was 5.3 percent in July 2015 and 6.1 percent in August 2014. For people age 25 and older with a bachelor's degree or more education, the unemployment rate was 2.5 percent in August 2015, down from 3.2 percent a year earlier. For people with some college or an associate degree, the unemployment rate was 4.4 percent in August 2015, down from 5.4 percent the previous year.
