The largest over-the-year percentage gains in employment occurred in St. George, Utah (+6.2 percent), Elkhart-Goshen, Indiana (+5.7 percent), and Sebring, Florida (+5.4 percent). The largest numerical increases were in New York-Newark-Jersey City, New York-New Jersey-Pennsylvania (+176,400), Dallas-Fort Worth-Arlington, Texas (+108,200), and Atlanta-Sandy Springs-Roswell, Georgia (+85,300).

The largest over-the-year percentage decrease in employment occurred in Houma-Thibodaux, Louisiana (–3.2 percent), followed by Michigan City-La Porte, Indiana (–2.9 percent), and Beckley, West Virginia, and Sierra Vista-Douglas, Arizona (–2.4 percent each). The largest numerical decrease occurred in Youngstown-Warren-Boardman, Ohio-Pennsylvania (–2,900), followed by Houma-Thibodaux, Louisiana, and Virginia Beach-Norfolk-Newport News, Virginia-North Carolina (–2,800 each).
