Every year from September 15 to October 15, Americans celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month to honor the history and culture of Hispanic and Latino Americans and their contributions to society. In 2019, New Mexico had the largest share of the labor force identifying as Hispanic or Latino, 44.7 percent, followed by California and Texas at 37.2 percent each.

Among the ten states with the largest percentage of Hispanics and Latinos in the labor force in 2019, Florida had the highest representation in management, professional, and related occupations, at 29.3 percent. In Nevada, 33.7 percent of Hispanics in the labor force were employed in service occupations. 26.0 percent of the Hispanic labor force in Illinois worked in production, transportation, and material moving occupations. Natural resources, construction, and maintenance occupations made up 23.4 percent of the Hispanic labor force in Colorado.
