Employer compensation costs for civilian workers averaged $40.90 per hour worked in March 2022. Compensation costs were $15.60 at the 10th percentile, $31.39 at the 50th percentile (median), and $78.58 at the 90th percentile. After adjusting for consumer price inflation, constant-dollar compensation costs decreased at the 90th percentile from March 2021 to March 2022 and showed no significant difference at either the 10th percentile or the 50th percentile.

The constant-dollar 10th percentile compensation costs were $12.87 (in 2022 dollars) in March 2013 and $15.60 in March 2022. The constant-dollar 90th percentile compensation costs were $75.14 in March 2013 and $78.58 in March 2022.
