Unemployment rate 3.6 percent in June 2023, little changed since May

The overall unemployment rate was 3.6 percent in June 2023, little changed over the month. Among the major worker groups, the unemployment rate for Whites declined from 3.3 percent in May 2023 to 3.1 percent in June 2023, while the unemployment rates for adult men (3.4 percent), adult women (3.1 percent), teenagers (11.0 percent), Blacks (6.0 percent), Asians (3.2 percent), and Hispanics (4.3 percent) showed little change.

From June 2022 to June 2023, the overall unemployment rate was unchanged as were the unemployment rates for adult men, teenagers, and Hispanics. The unemployment rates for adult women, Whites, Blacks, and Asians were little changed from June 2022 to June 2023.
