Note: Data are seasonally adjusted.

Among industries, there were 36,000 fewer job openings in federal government in March than a month earlier. Total separations decreased in federal government (−8,000), but increased in state and local government, excluding education (28,000). The number of hires was little changed in all industries in March.

These data are from the Job Openings and Labor Turnover Survey and are seasonally adjusted. Job openings data for the most recent month are preliminary. Job openings include all positions that are open on the last business day of the month. Hires and separations include all changes to the payroll during the entire month. To learn more, see "Job Openings and Labor Turnover — March 2025." We also have more charts showing job openings, hires, and separations data.
