Job openings rates increased in 2 states and were little changed in 48 states and the District of Columbia in August 2025. The increases in job openings rates occurred in Florida and Illinois (+0.6 percentage point each). August job openings rates ranged from 5.5 percent in West Virginia and 5.4 percent in Georgia, to 3.5 percent in Pennsylvania and Washington. Over the month, the national job openings rate was unchanged at 4.3 percent.
