The telework rate varied across the major demographic groups. In March 2026, 24.9 percent of employed women teleworked, higher than the 20.5 percent of employed men. Telework was more common among Asian workers (31.1 percent) than workers who were White (23.2 percent), Black (16.1 percent), or Hispanic (13.1 percent).
Younger workers had lower telework rates than older workers. Among people who worked, 6.7 percent of those ages 16 to 24 years old had teleworked in March, compared with 25.1 percent of workers ages 25 to 54, and 24.1 percent of workers age 55 and older.
These telework data are from the Current Population Survey (CPS) and are not seasonally adjusted. Data refer to employed people who teleworked or worked at home for pay during the CPS reference week. People whose ethnicity is Hispanic or Latino may be of any race.
