Consumer Expenditure Surveys

Notice to CE Microdata Users

The 2010 Consumer Expenditure Survey (CE) public-use microdata (PUMD) are now available for free electronic download. The 2011 PUMD files will be posted with the release of the 2011 CE data (expected the 4th week in September). We will also be posting earlier releases of the microdata files online in reverse chronological order. Prior years will be posted incrementally through 1996. For years that are not yet available for online download, users can continue to purchase the CDs using the public-use microdata order form (PDF). Please note, due to the cost of producing physical CDs, we are not allowed to refund prior purchases.

To subscribe to receive email notification when public-use microdata releases are available online, along with other new Consumer Expenditure Survey data, articles, and updates, visit the Email Updates page and subscribe to "Consumer Expenditure Survey Update."
