To users of the 2022 Consumer Expenditure Interview Survey Public Use Microdata:
The National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER) reported an error in the calculation of the New York State tax in their Taxsim v35 model which may have resulted in calculated tax liabilities for high income reporters to be either very low or non-existent. This resulted in a small increase for estimated tax liabilities by less than 1%. This error impacts the following variables from respondents located in New York State:

An issue was also identified in which mapping for Medicare payments was improperly assigned to each month in MTBI rather than the month in which the cost occurred. This impacts calendar year estimates and quarterly estimates calculated with the Public Use Microdata, however, the expenditures overall were unaffected. This impacted the following files and variables:

An issue was identified were some costs which were edited during data production were inadvertently assigned both a cost for finance charges and a bracket range for finance charges. This led to both costs being added to ITBI and increasing the cost of some finance charges. This impacts the following files:
