From October 2015 to October 2016, the Producer Price Index for final demand increased 0.8 percent, the largest over-the-year increase since the 12 months ending December 2014.

For the 12 months ending October 2016, the Producer Price Index for final demand less foods, energy, and trade services increased 1.6 percent, the largest gain since the index increased 1.7 percent for the 12 months ending September 2014.
The index for processed goods for intermediate demand fell 0.5 percent over the 12 months ending October 2016, while the index for unprocessed goods for intermediate demand declined 4.2 percent. The index for services for intermediate demand increased 2.3 percent for the year ending October 2016.
