The Producer Price Index for final demand less foods, energy, and trade services increased 2.3 percent in 2017, following a 1.8-percent increase in 2016. The index for final demand goods increased 3.5 percent for the year ending December 2017, after increasing 1.9 percent for the previous 12 months. Prices for final demand services increased 2.2 percent over the year; this follows a 1.6-percent increase for the 12 months ending December 2016.
