Retail trade employment decreases 4.5 percent in North Dakota for the year ended October 2019

November 26, 2019

As the holiday season approaches, retailers throughout the country typically ramp up hiring to meet the needs of holiday shoppers. While retailers may hire more help for the holidays, their expectations for the current holiday retail season may drive them to hire more or less than they did for the prior year. From October 2018 to October 2019, retail trade employment in North Dakota decreased 4.5 percent, while retail trade employment in Wisconsin increased 2.7 percent.
