There were 236 work-related suicides in 2021, down from 259 in 2020. Work-related suicides in these years were down from 307 in 2019, which was the highest number since the data series began in 2011. There were 229 work-related suicides in 2015, the lowest number over this 11-year period.

There have been a total of 2,962 work-related suicides since 2011. Of these, 47 percent were the result of a shooting. There were 118 work-related suicides involving a shooting in 2021, a 4.8 percent decrease from the 124 cases in 2020. The lowest number was 113 in 2011, while the high was 144 in 2017.
