Job openings rate 8.8 percent in Colorado in October 2024

In October 2024, the job openings rate was 8.8 percent in Colorado, 6.6 percent in Alaska, and 6.5 percent in Kentucky and West Virginia. Job openings rates were 6.0 percent or higher in five other states: Maine, Virginia, Oklahoma, Mississippi and South Carolina.

The national job openings rate was 4.6 percent in October 2024, compared with 5.2 percent a year earlier.

Job openings include all positions that are open on the last business day of the reference month. The job openings rate is computed by dividing the number of job openings by the sum of employment and job openings and multiplying that quotient by 100.
