Employer costs for employee compensation for private industry workers averaged $46.89 per hour worked in June 2026. Wages and salaries averaged $32.82, while benefit costs averaged $14.07. Wages and salaries accounted for 70.0 percent of employer costs, while benefit costs accounted for the remaining 30.0 percent.

Total employer compensation costs for full-time private industry workers averaged $54.00 per hour worked in June 2026. Wages and salaries averaged $36.97 and accounted for 68.5 percent of employer costs, while benefit costs averaged $17.03 and accounted for the remaining 31.5 percent.

For part-time private industry workers, total employer compensation costs averaged $25.20 per hour worked. Wages and salaries averaged $20.15 and accounted for 80.0 percent of employer costs, while benefit costs averaged $5.05 accounted for the remaining 20.0 percent.
