Import prices unchanged over year ended December 2025

U.S. import prices were unchanged (0.0 percent) in 2025, after rising 2.2 percent during 2024. Import prices in 2025 were 18.5 percent higher than a decade earlier.

Import fuels and lubricants prices fell 8.6 percent over the year ended December 2025, as import prices decreased for petroleum products but increased for natural gas. Import foods, feeds, and beverages prices decreased 4.3 percent over the recent year, compared with a 9.7 percent increase in 2024.

Prices for import automotive vehicles, parts, and engines decreased 1.5 percent from December 2024 to December 2025, after rising 2.4 percent in the prior year. Prices for consumer goods, excluding automotives, were down a slight 0.3 percent.
