Minor revisions to 2020 annual data for major sectors

Indexes of hours worked and related measures for major sectors published May 7, 2026 in the database and the labor productivity by major sectors: nonfarm business, business, nonfinancial corporate and manufacturing table include minor revisions to annual indexes for the year 2020. Percent changes from 2019 to 2020 and from 2020 to 2021 in the same measures were also revised. Adjustment ratios created in 2020 to account for job losses early in the COVID-19 pandemic are now applied to not-seasonally-adjusted source data rather than to seasonally-adjusted data, resulting in the revisions. No quarterly measures were impacted.
