(b) National level aggregations exclude Puerto Rico and Virgin Islands from the totals.

(d) SuperSector refers to the 10 Alternate aggregation sectors defined by the BLS Office of Employment and Unemployment Statistics under the guidelines of the U.S. Economic Classification Policy Committee. Sector refers to the 20 standard sectors defined under NAICS.

(e) Aggregation by size of establishment is done for private ownership cells only.

Consolidated Metropolitan Statistical Areas (CMSAs) were combinations of Metropolitan Statistical Areas (MSAs) defined under the pre-2003 area delineations. See www.bls.gov/cew/classifications/areas/area-guide.htm for a discussion of the CSA and CBSA delineations used by the QCEW program.

(g) Industry breakouts for MSAs are only done for private ownership cells. See www.bls.gov/cew/classifications/areas/area-guide.htm for a discussion of the MSA delineations used by the QCEW program.

(h) Micropolitan Statistical Areas (MicroSAs) are Core Based Statistical Area aggregates defined since 2003. See www.bls.gov/cew/classifications/areas/area-guide.htm for afor a discussion of the MicroSA delineations used by the QCEW program.
