The largest over-the-year employment increases occurred in Dallas-Fort Worth-Arlington, Texas (+129,700), New York-Newark-Jersey City, New York-New Jersey-Pennsylvania (+108,200), and Los Angeles-Long Beach-Anaheim, California (+107,600). The largest over-the-year percentage gains in employment occurred in Auburn-Opelika, Alabama, and St. George, Utah (+4.9 percent each), followed by Lake Charles, Louisiana, and Palm Bay-Melbourne-Titusville, Florida (+4.6 percent each).

The largest over-the-year decrease in employment occurred in Lafayette, Louisiana (–6,500), followed by Houma-Thibodaux, Louisiana (–5,200), and Rochester, New York (–4,400). The largest over-the-year percentage decrease in employment occurred in Casper, Wyoming (–6.9 percent), followed by Houma-Thibodaux, Louisiana (–5.8 percent), Lafayette, Louisiana, and Farmington, New Mexico (–3.2 percent each).
