Import and export automotive vehicle prices rise in 2021

The price index for automotive vehicle imports increased 2.8 percent from December 2020 to December 2021. Over the same period, export automotive vehicle prices rose 1.8 percent. Each of those advances was the largest calendar-year increase for the respective index since 2011. Higher prices for both passenger cars and parts contributed to the advances in import and export automotive vehicle prices.
