Import prices up 7.1 percent from June 2025 to June 2026

Overall U.S. import prices increased 7.1 percent from June 2025 to June 2026, the largest over-the-year increase since the index rose 7.7 percent in August 2022. Prices for imports from Canada increased 20.7 percent over the year ended June 2026, the largest over-the-year increase since June 2022 when prices were up 25.5 percent in the preceding 12 months.

Import prices from China increased 1.3 percent over the year ended June 2026, the largest 12-month increase since a 1.7-percent increase from November 2021 to November 2022. Prices for imports from Japan increased 1.2 percent over this period, while import prices from Mexico increased 3.4 percent.

Prices for imports from the Asian Newly Industrialized Countries (Hong Kong, Singapore, South Korea, and Taiwan) increased 7.7 percent over the past year, while import prices from ASEAN countries (which includes Vietnam, Malaysia, Thailand, and Singapore) were up 1.8 percent.
