The rate of job openings changed little at 4.4 percent in June 2026. The number of job openings was also little changed at 7.4 million.

The hires rate changed little at 3.4 percent in June, and the number was unchanged at 5.3 million. Hires decreased by 6,000 in federal government. The rate and number of total separations changed little at 3.4 percent and 5.4 million, respectively. Total separations changed little in all industries.
These data are from the Job Openings and Labor Turnover Survey and are seasonally adjusted. Data for the most recent month are preliminary. Job openings include all positions that are open on the last business day of the month. Hires and separations include all changes to the payroll during the entire month.
