The private households subsector is part of the other services (except public administration) sector.
Industries in the Private Households subsector include private households that engage in employing workers on or about the premises in activities primarily concerned with the operation of the household. These private households may employ individuals, such as cooks, maids, butlers, and outside workers, such as gardeners, caretakers, and other maintenance workers.

The private households subsector consists of a single industry group, Private Households: NAICS 8141.
This section provides information relating to employment and unemployment in private households. While most data are obtained from employer or establishment surveys, information on industry unemployment comes from a national survey of households. The following tables present an overview of the industry including the unemployment rate of those previously employed in the industry, and projections of occupational employment change.
