Compensation costs for transportation and moving occupations up 3.5 percent from March 2018

Transportation and material moving occupations in the private sector had the largest increase in compensation costs at 3.5 percent from March 2018 to March 2019. Professional and related occupations had the lowest compensation cost increase at 2.2 percent during the same 12-month period.

Compensation costs for all private industry workers increased 2.8 percent over the year, the same increase as in the year ending March 2018. Compensation costs for state and local government workers increased 3.0 percent for the 12-month period ending in March 2019.
