In recent years, the price indexes for import and export petroleum shared similar trends. Over the year ended in October 2019, import petroleum prices decreased 14.7 percent, while prices for export petroleum declined 21.0 percent.

The petroleum price indexes fell over the 12-month period despite import prices increasing 27.3 percent and export prices rising 14.0 percent from January to May 2019.
