Average hourly earnings for all private nonfarm employees rose by 8 cents in June 2025

Average hourly earnings for all employees on private nonfarm payrolls rose by 8 cents, or 0.2 percent, to $36.30 in June 2025. Over the past 12 months, average hourly earnings have increased by $1.30, or 3.7 percent. Some of the larger changes in average hourly earnings over the year were in information ($2.91), professional and business services ($2.03), and financial activities ($1.91).

The average workweek for all employees on private nonfarm payrolls edged down by 0.1 hour to 34.2 hours in June. In manufacturing, the average workweek was unchanged at 40.1 hours in June, but down 0.1 hour from a year earlier. The average workweek was unchanged over the past year in mining and logging, wholesale trade, retail trade, information, and professional and business services.
