In June 2026, the proportion of the population that was employed, known as the employment–population ratio, was 59.0 percent for people age 16 and over. The ratio edged down by 0.2 percentage point over the month and changed little over the year after accounting for annual population control adjustments.

The employment–population ratio for adult men, age 20 and over, was 66.5 percent in June 2026, while the ratio for adult women was 55.8 percent. The share of teenagers (ages 16 to 19) who were employed was 30.3 percent.
